My baby's first haircut!!

So my sweet Finnegan got his first haircut today! And his HGLS (Happy Go Lucky Syndrome) really came through!! When we entered the salon, there was another little guy in the chair that Finnegan was gonna ride in so we had to wait. This little boy was crying and wailing and didn't want anything to do with getting a haircut. I think the gal doing the cut, was getting a little frustrated because he wouldn't stay still and she was having a bit of difficulty. I could tell when she was done, she didn't take her time to "style" it or anything... just a quick brush and he was finished. Poor little guy. I was a bit afraid that Finnegan would do the same thing... but he did very well. We put him up in the seat and he looked right in the mirror. He just sat in the seat and was very patient.

Look how long his little hair is in back! It was definitely in need of a cut!
Here's the first cut... He sat like this the whole time. He played with the lap toy a bit; it made sounds and sang, but he didn't want much to do with it. We even got a smile out of him.

He even let her use the clippers to even out the back and cut his sideburns. I was very proud of him. He got a bit squirmy at one point, but did very well. "Mom, are they almost done??"
All done, my sweetie. And he was happy. And except for a little spit up (ok, a lot of spit up) he did great! No Crying, No whining, No wailing... Just Happy Go Lucky Little Finnegan!

Now, he really looks like a boy... none of this "girl" name calling anymore! When we were ready to leave, they gave us a little card, with a polaroid photo (yes, I said polaroid) and a small lock of his hair. On the card, it had the date with his age and an update of how he did during his first haircut. What a snazzy little dude!

Finn's New Blankie

Here are some photos of Finnegan with his new taggie blankie. He loves it so much!! Thanks Alison!! She always does such a nice job packaging them before shipping. Here is the link to Alison's site, if you didn't take a look before :)

Here, Finn was playing with the tags... the exact reason I got it for him.

Packages and Weekend plans

So Finnegan got TWO packages yesterday. The first was from his Aunt Beth for Easter. She sent him a super stylish Polo shirt - Real Ralph Lauren Polo Shirt in his size... It was originally $30 (still had the RL tag on it) and she got it for $8 at Ross! LOVE IT!! And these two super cute books that are cut out books. One is about Fish and the other is about Lions (i think). Thanks Aunt Beth!

His second package was a super cute blankie that I had made for him... His new fascination is with the tags on the bottom of all of his toys. So, I got him a taggie blanket. My sister's friend (and I suppose my new friend) Alison made it. She owns Maggie Moo Designs. He is enjoying the blanket a lot and even took it to the mall with us yesterday. He loves playing with the ribbons and sleeps with it too. He loves it. Thanks Alison for doing such a great job! I'll try to post some photos later this weekend of him with it!

Oh, the weekend is ahead and we only have one thing planned... Finnegan's first haircut!! AHH!! I wasn't sure that I wanted to do it yet, but Ken is persistent that it be cut. His hair is so long, especially in the back, so we will go tomorrow and take him to the kiddie haircut place for the main event. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures too. Here's one to show how he looks when he wakes up (4 days out of 7) :) And the second is after a bath! :) CRAZY HAIR!!

Oh, and it's snowing again here in WA. This is super rare (except for this year). It has snowed more this year than it has in the three years we've lived here. It just keeps snowing and snowing in the past few days. It is so crazy!! But very beautiful!

Easter revisted

I wrote a short post on my previous blog about our Easter celebration, but I thought I'd include some photos here for you!

The McClimans (Sr. and Jr.) and Mulligan shared the day with us and we had a great time.

The Easter bunny came and left goodies for Finnegan and daddy. I prepared a Easter brunch for everyone and Theresia and Shawnta brought goodies to share as well. We had such a beautiful time with our friends as we celebrated. We are thankful that they include us as part of their celebrations.

Above is a great photo of everyone at the table. And then another with all of the men together. Finnegan got a cute Lambie from the Mulligans, and Ken and I posed by the table. This is my new apron from my friend Heather, and my Bunny Ears! Very fitting, I thought!
