Is it normal to grieve for your country after an election? To grieve for your children and for your own future? I agree with Sen McCain that Sen Obama has achieved many admirable things in this campaign, among them, rallying those who thought they had no say in this countries ability to chose a president. However, I still am worried about the future, our security and the preservation of our heritage.
Another question... How do you reconcile with friends who voted differently than you did in this election? There will always be people who disagree with you, but when there are close friends, that you may have bonded with and grown to love, who voted against things that are foundational to what you believe, how do you reconcile that relationship?
Regardless of my feelings, I will still decide to be respectful. Congratulations, Senator Obama.

There is no need to grieve, (Rom 13:1) "For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God."
We as Christian have the true "hope" in knowing God has complete control. Now more than ever it's up to us to put on a Christ like attitude and respect Pres. Obama, knowing full well it every move he makes has been orcastated by our All Mighty God.
To be perfectly honest, nothing should need to be "reconciled" per se. Loving someone, especially when using the "agape" love that Jesus taught us, means completely loving and accepting someone for who they are. No two people are the same. We are all individuals with different views and opinions, especially when it comes to politics! But remember that every person did what they believed in their heart to be right. Very devout Christians voted on different sides in this election, each having valid and heartfelt reasons to defend their choice. What is important is that we not judge each other, but love and accept each other. "Love one another as I have loved you", and "Judge not, that ye not be judged" are two important quotes from our Lord that always have stuck with me. Only He has the right to judge each one of us. What we need to do is be forgiving and accepting of one another and bind together as Americans so we can make our country better, not only for us but for our children and generations to come.
